Saint James Way

In Galicia in the year 813, a hermit discovered the tomb of Saint James (Santiago) in the city of Compostela. Since its discovery the Apostle’s tomb has become a sacred site attracting pilgrims and non-pilgrims from all over the world. The Camino de Santiago or Road to Santiago has been declared by UNESCO of World Heritage importance, and in addition to its spiritual significance, it holds other historic values, such as having been the backbone of European cultural unity.Saint James way is the pilgrimage route that brings travellers from all over the world to Spain, and it can be a comforting experience in every sense. Cathedrals, churches and monasteries will "tone up" your spirit, but here we also suggest a different way of doing a holiday.

Santiago Cathedral and its  botafumeiro – the largest censer in the world, weighing 80 kg and measuring 1.60 m in height. A large ceremonial incense burner that is swung vigorously across the cathedral,filling it with the smell of incense.
